Quite simple really....who wrote the best scripts for the Real Ghostbusters?
You can find out who wrote what at
http://www.ecto-web.org, but here's each writer's most noteworthy episodes:
Michael Reaves - The Bogeyman Cometh/The Bogeyman Is Back, The Collect Call of Cthulhu, Egon's Ghost, Janine Melnitz: Ghostbuster, The Copycat
Richard Mueller - Cold Cash and Hot Water, Venkman's Ghost Repellers, The Spirit of Aunt Lois, Bustman's Holiday, The Revenge of Murray the Mantis, Standing Room Only, Future Tense
Len Jansen & Chuck Menville - Ghosts R Us, Mrs. Roger's Neighborhood, Janine's Genie, Once Upon a Slime, The Joke's On Ray, Something's Going Around, Ghostworld, Stay Tooned (ack)
Mark & Michael Edens - A Ghost Grows in Brooklyn, Last Train to Obvilion, Apocalypse - What, NOW?, Ghostbuster of the Year, The Cabinet of Calamari
Pamela Hickey & Dennis McCoy - Banshee Bake a Cherry Pie?, The Long, Long, Long Etc. Goodbye, The Devil To Pay, Halloween II I/2
Kathryn M. Drennan - Night Game, The Man Who Never Reached Home, Egon's Dragon
OK, I'll stop there.
Well, I went for Richard Mueller. Apart from writing some of the best episodes, he gave us some brilliant character background through the introduction of Charlie Venkman and Aunt Lois, as well as Ray's Scottish heritage. He also gave us some nice little E/J moments, notably in "Rollerghoster". To cap that he wrote many of the best episodes from the later seasons.
OK, who's yours?
(And yes, you will notice I left a certain someone off the list, on account that he would most likely scoop all the votes hands down
).
