So, I am very glad to announce that I finally landed my dream job!!!!!!!!
After a tedious process that has lasted more than a year ,I had really given up hope, I got the call that I have gotten a job with my state as a disability determination specialist. I will be approving and disapproving applications for disability benefits for the state, I know that sounds boring but its what I went to school for.
The best thing about it is that its a state job, almost impossible to get fired from, great benefits, lots of off time-13 holidays, and it is under the department of education so I will get all of those wonderful teacher benefits as well, so yeah! And their office is in an area I have always wanted to live.
Oh and the salary is nothing to sneeze at either. I can be making 52k in 5 years.
The bad news is that they don't pay you during the first month, because if they are going to fire you that's when they do it, and I am going to have to move back in with my folks for a while.
What that means to you guys is that my parents live on a lake in the woods and I can't get anything but dial up there, so I will be scarce, and the two hour commute will make me too tired to do anything but sleep and work anyway.
I am very excited!
PS- Just in case anyone was interested my doctor decide that I have Lupus and that that was what was causing the swelling in my brain that I was talking about. the treatment is still steroids so I am not too worried about that anymore. I can deal with that as long as I keep it under control.
So that's my news. I will probably wait till the last minute to move back in with my folks, because I don't look forward to it, so that would be the 14th of June it seems as my job starts the 16th.
I am very happy because I was beginning to feel that my very expensive degree was worthless. But it seems to be redeaming itself.
